Time tracking with monday.com
Track time with monady.com, South Africa. How quickly is your team able to complete a task? Which departments are using the most time to complete what should be simple tasks? These questions can easily be answered by using Monday.com South Africa’s time tracking feature.
To add this helpful feature all you need to do is press the “+” button on the top of your board and then select “More Columns”. Once you are in the column center, click on “Time Tracking”.
Once this feature has been added, you and your team will simply need to press the play button to start the timer. You can also pause the timer in between jobs if need be. Once the task has been completed, you can stop the timer. The results of the timer activity will be recorded in the Activity Log. You can also manually enter the time by clicking on the timer cell and selecting “Add Session Manually”. This only works for past jobs.
Pulling a time tracking log
To find out how much time was spent on a specific task, click on the time tracking cell of the task. This will open the history of the cell as well as a time log.
This feature is also a great way to track the progress of certain tasks at any given time, as well as the time spent on them thus far. If you have entered the incorrect time manually, or if you have left the timer running, you can always edit the time in the cell. Edited times will turn red. You can also delete the time log by hovering over it and clicking on the cross.
Time tracking can be used on subtasks as well and can be implemented in the same way you would a normal task. You can then get the total of these subitems to reflect in the main task. To do this, you to the time tracking column settings and click on “Show Summary on Parent Item”.
All of the time logs generated on Monday.com can be exported to Excel and download by clicking on the column menu and selecting “Export Column Data to Excel”. This will export all of the column details from both a task and board view. You can also choose to export selected options only by clicking on the item and selecting “Export Column Data to Excel”.
